Undo Ordinary – Holiday Entertaining with Kim Crawford Wines

Exciting news to share, I’ve partnered up with Kim Crawford, one of my favorite New Zealand wineries, to share unexpected, dynamic and truly stunning holiday entertaining ideas. This is perfect timing with the introduction of their new Sparkling Wine, Fizz… and we all know how much I love some good bubbles.

Inspired by the unconventional spirit of Kim Crawford … and my touch of the unexpected,  I developed some tips that will add a dash of sparkle to your next soiree. Together, we are hoping to #UndoOrdinary this season.

Make sure to visit facebook.com/kimcrawfordwines to get my edible gold-flecked wine gelee recipe, along with décor suggestions, thoughtful gifts ideas and novel party bites elevated by Kim Crawford’s vibrant wines. And if you aren’t already familiar with Kim Crawford, be sure to pick some up to enjoy this holiday season (the sauvignon blanc and pinot noir are my favorites) –  a crack of the cap and your party just got a little more festive.

Happy Holidays!

Carats & Cake

With the onset of fall, we are quick to reminisce over warm summer days –especially when thinking of one of our favorite events in Napa. Featured on Carats & Cake, this NorCal wedding combined the ethereal and the rustic to create a fabulous affair. See the featurette here.

Garden Glamour

“This wedding is best described by the bride as boho with a side of fancy, fancy which translates into equal parts killer style and vendor dream team. From design by Yifat Oren & Stefanie Cove, to richly hued florals by The Velvet Garden and Gia Canali behind the lens. In the full gallery you’ll find a moonlit ceremony so enchanting followed by a ballroom reception with glamour tucked into every nook.”

Vogue & DVF & GOOP, Oh My!

One evening in late august, Gweneth Paltrow hosted a celebration in honor of the Diane von Furstenberg’s x Goop Collaboration, at her home in Amagansett. To quote Vogue (as one often does), “After cocktails, guests moved to the single long table, seating 50, that was set in the middle of the lawn nestled between two giant oak trees. Clustered bouquets of ivory garden roses, peonies, and dahlias in etched crystal vases and candelabras, the tapers of which refused to stay lit in the August breeze, were set upon crisp white linens.

At dusk the branches of the two oak trees suddenly came aglow with what looked like a swarm of celebratory fireflies but were actually dangling fairy lights, a favorite of YOA Productions’ Stefanie Cove, who was responsible for the evening’s décor.”

“This business is beyond a labor of love.” Thank you Goop. See photos of the event below, or click Vogue. Enjoy.

Monkey Magic – Brooks’ 2nd Birthday Bash

It has become a June highlight to  to work with our dearest, Molly Sims, for her sweet boy Brooks’, 2nd birthday. This year, we worked with Molly and her team to come up with creative projects that we could all make together.  Brooks’ current obsession du jour (it goes in spurts with the wee ones) Curious George,  for obvious reasons, who doesn’t love that mischievous primate?  So Molly decided to create a party with some monkey magic. Some of the elements were:

A colorful paper flower sign to welcome the guests.

Flower Sign Brooks

A real live  Curious George! And a make-your-own yellow hat station -sponsored by Yoobi, an amazing new company that donates school supplies to classrooms. For every Yoobi product purchased, a Yoobi item will be donated to a classroom in need across the US.

One of our favorite elements was a recent new discovery by the YOA team.  What better to accompany a Curious George party than mini frozen bananas?!  Or any party for that matter. Hannah’s Bananas, a mini food truck available for private events in Los Angeles and surrounding areas, is the most  adorable vintage truck, called the “Boho-Nana”, get it??   With an attached end table and banana shaped stools, Hannah’s Bananas was a hit!
